Join a seminar about AI in geophysical signal measurement

May 22, 2025

On Tuesday, June 3, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm MT, join NSF NCAR’s Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) and Research Applications Laboratory (RAL) for a joint seminar. The talk, with EOL’s Dr. Jothiram Vivekanandan (Vivek), is entitled "Artificial Intelligence Geophysical Signal Measurement."

This presentation will explore how artificial intelligence, specifically Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks, can be integrated with radar and radiometer instruments at the signal measurement level. This integration aims to significantly reduce temporal sampling requirements while maintaining accuracy, offering exciting possibilities for remote sensing applications.

This hybrid seminar allows for in-person or virtual attendance. The in-person event will be held at the NSF NCAR-Foothills Laboratory at 3450 Mitchell Lane, room FL2-1022, the Large Seminar Room. For in-person guests, refreshments will be available at 3:15 PM MT. Virtual participants can join online here and will be able to ask questions via Slido.
