NSF NAIRR Hackathon Readiness Virtual Bootcamp

The OpenACC Organization is offering a series of Open Hackathons with NSF NAIRR resource partners to support the NSF National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) Pilot projects. To help prepare researchers to apply to the Open Hackathons, we are co-hosting the NAIRR Hackathon Readiness Bootcamp on June 5, 2025. 

Held jointly with NVIDIA, this bootcamp will provide an overview of the Open Hackathon program, outline the benefits of attending, and cover useful tools and technologies specifically for AI applications. Notably, NCAR / NOAA / NREL will have their next Open Hackathon planned for May 2026. If interested, you may also apply for other site hackathons such as NCSA’s Open Hackathon Aug 12-21st, deadline to apply May 28th.

Tools covered include: NVIDIA® NIM™, prebuilt, optimized inference microservices for rapidly deploying the latest AI models on any NVIDIA-accelerated infrastructure; NVIDIA NeMo, an open-source Python framework for building, training, and fine-tuning physics AI models at scale; and profiling software for AI applications. Project discussions with AI specialists are available.
