CISL is planning HPC system outages for the following services on an overlapping schedule:
- All user-facing services: Tuesday, September 1
- Derecho: Monday, August 31 – Wednesday, September 2
All system services will be sporadically unavailable on Tuesday, September 1 to allow for necessary software upgrades and hardware maintenance. This includes Casper, filesystem access, and Quasar, along with the potential for brief HPC network disruptions.
Derecho requires more substantial downtime to update its backend (non-user-facing) software infrastructure. We do not anticipate any user-visible changes as a result of this update, but given the complexity of the underlying changes, we are reserving three days to ensure responsible completion.
As usual, jobs queued for execution will run once the systems have been successfully checked out and returned to production.
