Join a seminar about storm-time ionosphere-thermosphere modeling

June 29, 2026

On Wednesday, July 8, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm MT, join the High Altitude Observatory (HAO) at NSF NCAR for a seminar. The talk is entitled "How Far Can Observation-Constrained Field-Aligned Currents Take Us? Insights into Storm-Time Ionosphere-Thermosphere Modeling."

The speaker, Qingyu Zhu, is an assistant professor of physics at The University of Texas at Dallas and a former Advanced Study Program postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Zhu will present recent efforts to model storm-time ionospheric and thermospheric responses using observation-constrained field-aligned currents and discuss future space weather forecasting.

The event will be held in a hybrid format. In-person attendees can gather in room 3131 at Center Green Building 1 (CG1). Virtual participants can join the meeting via Google Meet.
