Join a seminar about optimizing planetary boundary layer observations—refreshments served for in-person guests

June 8, 2026

On Tuesday, June 16, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm MT, join the Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) and the Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Laboratory (MMM) at NSF NCAR for a joint seminar. The talk is entitled "Utilizing Planetary Boundary Layer Height Data from Multiple Observing Systems in the NASA GEOS System."

The speaker, Eun-Gyeong Yang, represents the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) / Goddard Earth Sciences Technology and Research (GESTAR) II and the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center / Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO). Dr. Yang will present a strategic framework for building a global planetary boundary layer height analysis and monitoring capability within the NASA Goddard Earth Observing System (GEOS) data assimilation system.

This hybrid seminar will be held at the NCAR-Foothills Laboratory at 3450 Mitchell Lane, room FL2-1022, which is the Large Seminar Auditorium. Refreshments will be served for in-person guests at 3:15 pm MT, and virtual participants can watch the live webcast and submit questions via Slido.
