Join a talk about convective transport modeling—refreshments served for in-person guests

June 1, 2026

On Thursday, June 11, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm MT, join NSF NCAR’s Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Laboratory (MMM) for an insightful presentation. The talk is entitled "Environmental Influences on Convective Entrainment and Their Implications for Parameterized Vertical Transport." Speaker Cansu Düzgün, a researcher from Florida State University, will lead the discussion, with refreshments served starting at 1:45 pm MT.

Dr. Düzgün will examine how the mixing of environmental air into convective cores impacts the strength of updrafts. The presentation highlights new insights into vertical chemical transport through the use of numerical modeling and satellite-derived observations.

This hybrid event will take place in person at the NCAR-Foothills Laboratory at 3450 Mitchell Lane, room FL-1022 (the Large Auditorium). In-person guests can also join colleagues for refreshments and informal discussion after the seminar until 3:30 pm MT. Virtual attendees can view the live webcast here and submit questions during the event using Slido.
