Upcoming Conferences, Events, and Calls for Submissions

Please see below for upcoming workshops, summer schools, and conferences with relevant deadlines early to late summer that may be of interest to Earth system and computational scientists, researchers, and students.

  • ESIP July 2026 Meeting Bridging Divides: Data, Technology, Community
    • Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) twice annual meeting
    • Austin, TX + Virtual option July 28-31, 2026
    • Session proposals accepted through May 15
    • Submissions should include as much detail in proposal as possible, recognizing that there will be time to fully design and polish the session after acceptance

  • USRSE26 Conference Advancing Science in the Age of AI
    • Annual US Research Software Engineer Association (US-RSE) conference
    • In-person only San Jose, California, October 19 - 21, 2026
    • Submission formats include Birds of a Feather (BoFs), workshops, short talks (including papers, talk abstracts, and notebooks), and posters. 
    • The submission deadline for all formats (except posters) is May 22, 2026. Poster submissions are due August 7, 2026.

  • 3rd edition of the International School on Satellite Meteorology (ISSM)
    • Train the next generation to consider remote measurements from space as a key point to better understand and model meteorological phenomena. 
    • Open to Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows in physical, environmental, atmospheric, or related sciences, and early career operational meteorologists and researchers.
    • In-person at Lipari, Aeolian Islands (Sicily), Italy August 31 to September 4, 2026
    • Registration deadline on June 30, 2026, see pamphlet
