Attend a virtual seminar on the integrity of hurricane wind data

On Wednesday, February 18, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm MT, join UCAR’s CPAESS (Cooperative Programs for the Advancement of Earth System Science) for a Discovery Seminar featuring Zorana Jelenak. The talk is entitled “In The Eye Of The Storm: From Storm-Force Errors To Gold-Standard Science.”

Dr. Jelenak will examine how hidden biases in ocean surface wind measurements can impact satellite calibration and AI training. This presentation uses two decades of hurricane mission experience to explore the necessity of maintaining data quality as a strategic asset in Earth system science.
