Join a seminar on Freva, the science gateway for the Earth system community

February 5, 2025

On Tuesday, February 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm MST, join Dr. Christopher Kadow of the German Client Computing Center (DKRZ) for a seminar entitled “Freva: the Science gateway for the Earth system community—from data to analysis to AI/ML.”

Freva—the Free Evaluation System Framework for Earth system modeling—is a modern science gateway designed to streamline climate science research. By integrating advanced computational resources, data, and tools in a unified interface, Freva reduces technical overhead on big projects. Freva offers multiple access points, centralized access, standardized data search, flexible analysis, transparent and reproducible results, and bridges technical barriers with language models—empowering climate scientists to address today’s urgent challenges.

The seminar will be held remotely by webcast, as well as in-person at NSF NCAR’s Mesa Lab, in the main seminar room.

This event is jointly sponsored by two laboratories at NSF NCAR: the Climate & Global Dynamics Lab (CGD) and the Computational & Information Systems Lab (CISL).
