Derecho, Casper, JupyterHub and the /glade/derecho/scratch file system will be unavailable Tuesday-Wednesday February 11-12. The primary objective for this outage is to apply necessary software updates to Destor, the storage subsystem serving /glade/derecho/scratch. This maintenance requires disconnecting compute clients as well.
During the entirety of the outage compute nodes will be down for both Derecho and Casper, along with JupyterHub. Campaign Storage, Globus, and the data-access nodes will generally be available throughout the majority of outage, with the expectation of a brief disruption at the beginning as network switches are updated and rebooted.
As typical, scheduler reservations will be put in place across the systems to ensure that all user jobs have completed by 7:00 AM February 11 as the downtime begins. Any jobs that are queued on Derecho and Casper when the downtime begins will be retained for execution when the systems return to service.
Progress will be communicated through the Notifier system throughout the course of the outage.
