This winter, join the
Open Hackathon taking place on February 25th to 27th, with virtual introduction meetings on February 12th and 18th. The hybrid event will be held at the NREL campus in Golden, CO.
The hackathon is hosted by National Renewable Energy Library (NREL), NSF NCAR, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Open Hackathons are multi-day, intensive hands-on events designed to facilitate collaboration between domain scientists, computational scientists, and research software engineers. Teams are encouraged to apply with ongoing or new projects towards the goal of improving their software, such as by adding well defined features, porting code to new architectures, or accelerating and optimizing their applications on a variety of data center architectures including CPUs and GPUs. Mentors from the larger computational science community will be assigned to each accepted team.
To learn more about the Open Hackathon series, how hackathons work, and the benefits of participation, read the CISL News article about
last year’s event.
Teams of at least three members are welcome to
apply by December 4th, 2024. Any questions about the event may be directed to
Daniel Howard.
