Here’s what NSF NCAR will be doing at the Supercomputing conference

October 24, 2024

The Supercomputing 2024 Conference (SC24) is right around the corner, November 17 to 22 in Atlanta, Georgia. NSF NCAR and CISL will have a full slate of activities in the NSF NCAR booth and in the SC24 technical program.

 Some planned highlights:
  • Collaborate and Connect Reception: On Tuesday afternoon, over food and drinks at the NSF NCAR booth, meet CISL’s director, Thomas Hauser, and other members of the CISL team. Network, talk shop, and discover our plans for the upcoming year.
  • Ask an Expert: Our booth is fully staffed Tuesday through Thursday with CISL staff experts who can answer all your questions.
  • Booth Presentations: Topics include: net-zero weather and climate simulations; 3D-printed weather technologies; performant and energy-efficient scientific code; and more.
  • Technical Program: Attend SC24 sessions involving NSF NCAR staff—including a member of the team selected as finalist for the ACM Gordon Bell Prize in Climate Modelling.
  • Something for Everyone: Our Family Day activities will offer fun for all ages and snacks in the afternoon. We will participate in the Job Fair, and also present student and internship opportunities. Multiple raffles will be held everyday after every booth presentation.
