Join a virtual Spanish-language lecture on decoding the atmosphere with GPS

September 13, 2024

On Thursday, September 26, at 1:00 pm MDT, join a virtual Spanish-language lecture on the vital role of GPS in atmospheric science. This is a free public event for ages 12-plus and will be hosted entirely in Spanish!

In it, UCAR scientist Valentina Petroni will talk about her work with the COSMIC constellation of satellites, and a new process called radio occultation. The lecture, called “¡Descifrando los secretos de la atmósfera con GPS!” will use the Slido interface where anyone can ask questions during the conversation.

Watch the live public broadcast here—the page also invites you to submit your questions and upvote the ones you think are most important. Or register for the lecture here.

This event is part of the NSF NCAR Explorer Series, which brings world-class science to the public free of charge, led by NSF NCAR research scientists.
