Explore a Rich New Dataset on Long-Term U.S. Weather Patterns

October 25, 2023

Researchers can now access CONUS404, a remarkable new dataset on U.S. weather patterns, through the Casper analysis cluster.

The nearly one-petabyte dataset is the result of a collaboration between the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and was recently published in NCAR’s Research Data Archive (RDA).

The CONUS404 dataset covers the contiguous United States (CONUS) for more than 40 years (1980–2021) at 4-kilometer grid spacing.

Read more about the CONUS404 dataset at the CISL website. To analyze CONUS404 using the Casper analysis cluster, request a Data Analysis allocation.
