NCAR’s recent HPCwire Editor's Choice award for Best Use of HPC in the Physical Sciences was recognition for a collaborative, cross-laboratory success, according to a
new CISL article about the GPU-based FastEddy model.
FastEddy was developed primarily on the Casper cluster and involved key contributions from both the Research Applications Lab and CISL high-performance computing experts. The article features an animation of data from the award-winning project, showing near-surface wind speed across an area including street-canyon and building wake flow conditions.
