Register soon for early-2023 Open Hackathon

November 23, 2022

NCAR, NOAA, NVIDIA and OpenACC.org are hosting an Open Hackathon on February 21 (an online-only introduction) and February 28 through March 2 at the NCAR Mesa Lab in Boulder (hybrid format). Open Hackathons are opportunities for scientists and research software engineers to collaborate with expert mentors from national labs, universities, and industry leaders to accelerate their high-performance-computing codes and artificial intelligence software.

Accepted teams will be given priority access during the hackathon to a GPU cluster managed by NVIDIA. The event is intended to support GPU project teams preparing to use NCAR’s new Derecho system, but teams developing CPU-only software projects are also welcome to apply. Applications from NCAR and NOAA users and affiliated groups will be prioritized.

Individual software engineers or project leads are invited to complete this form by December 1 to support a hackathon team or solicit team support from colleagues.

Teams interested in attending the hackathon must apply here by December 14. Any questions about the event can be directed to CISL HPC consultant Daniel Howard.
