NOAA's Earth Prediction Innovation Center (
EPIC) is offering a limited number of travel grants for students and early-career scientists to attend the Unifying Innovations in Forecasting Capabilities Workshop 2026 (
UIFCW26).
The workshop takes place from Monday, July 20 to Friday, July 24 in College Park, MD. The theme for this year's event is “A New Frontier: Optimizing New Technology in a Changing Weather Enterprise.” It’s a great opportunity to gain conference experience, learn about NOAA's forecasting capabilities and processes, and share UFS modeling research. The general registration deadline is Monday, July 6. For more information, visit the workshop’s
web page and
event page.
The travel grant provides funds to cover transportation to and from the workshop, hotel accommodations, and meals. Students do not need to submit an abstract or poster to apply for the travel grant, but are encouraged to present at the workshop if interested.
