This seminar introduces a new variational framework that uses dual-pol radar to infer "unmeasurable" storm thermodynamics. By coupling S-POL radar data with the EXMIRAS bin-microphysics model, researchers can now estimate critical evaporative cooling and droplet processes. Join us to see how this work advances our ability to retrieve thermodynamic data from radar observations.
For in-person participants, refreshments will be available at 3:15 pm MT.
The event takes place at the NSF NCAR-Foothills Laboratory, in the Large Seminar Auditorium, FL2-1022, located at 3450 Mitchell Lane. For virtual attendants, the seminar will be
webcast live, with questions via Slido.
