SIParCS 2026 summer internship applications are now open!

Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Summer Internships in Parallel Computational Science (SIParCS) program. This opportunity, at NSF NCAR’s Computational and Information Systems Lab (CISL), is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

The application deadline is January 20, 2026, at 5:00 pm MT.

Technical projects are available in areas like machine learning, data science, software engineering, data assimilation, digital asset management, HPC application optimization/parallelization, and outreach. 

Applicants must submit an application (for no more than two projects), a CV/resume, a personal statement, and unofficial transcripts from all institutions attended. International students eligible to work in the U.S. and students seeking their first professional internship are encouraged to apply. For tips on applying, see how to apply and FAQs.

Office Hours and Inquiries: Students interested in learning more about the program or application process can attend the SIParCS virtual office hours. Drop-in sessions are scheduled from mid-November through January 20, 2026.
