On Thursday, June 26, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm MT, join NSF NCAR’s Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology (MMM) laboratory for a seminar entitled "Measuring Humidity? It’s Plane and Simple!"
The speaker, Dr. Ollie Lewis, will explore the use of interferometry to measure atmospheric refraction of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) radio transmissions from commercial aircraft. This technique aims to provide a low-cost, high-volume method for obtaining tropospheric humidity measurements.
The hybrid event will be held both
virtually (with questions via Slido) and in-person at the NSF NCAR-Foothills Laboratory at 3450 Mitchell Lane, room FL2-1022 (the Large Seminar room). For in-person guests, refreshments and informal discussion will be available from 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm MT.
