Join a virtual seminar on wind energy, part of a monthly series

February 28, 2025

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 8:00 to 9:00 am MT, attend a virtual seminar on wind energy, entitled “Two Applications Using Low-Fidelity Models: Digital Twins and Uncertainty Propagation.”

In this talk, Emmanuel Branlard, an associate professor of Mechanical Engineering at UMass Amherst, will explore two applications of low-fidelity models: digital twinning and uncertainty propagation. Both applications rely on reduced-order linear models of wind turbines but are used in distinct ways. Dr. Branlard will explore the following questions: Can we accurately estimate loads and fatigue on a floating wind turbine using a limited set of measurements? Can we account for stochasticity directly instead of using a brute-force method?

This event is fully remote; watch live here. The talk is part of the “European–American Collaboration in Wind Energy” webinar series, held on the second Wednesday of each month.
