Join an upcoming lecture on climate research, “Geography matters!”

On Wednesday, December 4, at 5:30 to 7:00 pm MST, join an Explorer Series lecture, “Geography matters! Meeting the challenges of climate resilience with geospatial technology” with NSF NCAR scientists Jennifer Boehnert and Olga Wilhelmi.
 
In this lecture, the hosts will discuss why geography matters in understanding and reducing weather and climate risks. They will discuss the role of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in climate research and action and illustrate how geospatial technology is not only enabling new scientific advancements, but also contributing to building community resilience to weather hazards and the changing climate. 

This is a free public event for ages 12-plus. The event is hybrid: attendees can join in-person, in the Mesa Lab Main Seminar Room; or virtually, where they can ask questions following the lecture using the Slido interface.
