Projects with Cheyenne allocations can now make requests to transfer core-hours to the Derecho system via the
ARC portal. The Derecho system will be opening to all users on August 9.
To make a transfer request, log into ARC, and select Allocations from the navigation menu. Under “My Allocations,” find the project with the Cheyenne core-hours you want to transfer. Click on the “Actions” button and select “Transfer.”
For the Cheyenne resource, enter the number of core-hours you want to move as a negative number. Next to Derecho, enter the same value as a positive number. For now, no need to worry about conversions, and you can leave the Reason for Transfer blank. Then click on “Submit.”
To see how many core-hours you have remaining on Cheyenne, you can visit the SAM system. Log in, then select My Account Statements under the Reports menu. If you have more than one active project, select the correct project from the list. The “Balance” value in the Cheyenne row indicates the core-hours you can transfer to Derecho.
If you don’t see the Transfer option in ARC, or encounter other problems, email
cislhelp@ucar.edu or call 303-497-2000 for assistance.
