Derecho weekly update

All hardware for the new Derecho system is on site at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center and HPE engineers are installing the base system software needed to boot the system.

HPE informed CISL on February 6 that their staff may need to delay work on Derecho for a week to focus on a defense-related order; these orders take priority due to federal laws. The next phase of the project will be the hardware check-out when HPE runs software on the system to determine if any hardware has failed and needs to be replaced. We now expect that phase to start on February 20.
