The recording and slides from the November 9 “Using Globus v5 at NCAR” tutorial are
now online here. The tutorial presented by Brian Vanderwende of the CISL Consulting Service Group reviewed recent changes in the Globus data and their impact on users of the service.
In the new Globus deployments, endpoints including NCAR GLADE and NCAR Campaign Storage are now known as mapped collections and user-created shared endpoints are now guest collections.
Aside from the terminology difference, users should still be able to search the same names and use the same collection UUIDs as before. Those who have been using InCommon certificates for unattended workflows need to migrate those workflows to use new guest collections. Guest collections can also be used to share data with external collaborators. The relevant documentation is available here:
