MPT and other software default updates planned for April 11

March 24, 2022

To ensure that users of our Cheyenne and Casper systems have access to up-to-date capabilities, new default module versions will be set for several software programs and libraries on April 11 at noon MDT. Most notable of the changes will be the MPT MPI library on Cheyenne, which will go from a default version of 2.22 to 2.25. This newer version contains many backend improvements and users should migrate to mpt/2.25 for distributed workflows as soon as possible.

The full list of new default module versions is:

  • mpt/2.25
  • nvhpc/22.2
  • arm-forge/21.1.1
  • cdo/2.0.1
  • matlab/R2022a
  • nco/5.0.3
  • R/4.1.2

Please contact the NCAR Research Computing help desk if you encounter any issues when using these software versions. Older versions of these software installations will remain accessible via the modules system.
