All HPC Resources Scheduled Outage: Tuesday, March 3rd

All HPC resources, including Derecho, Casper, and JupyterHub, will be unavailable on Tuesday, March 3rd from 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM MST.  This downtime will facilitate Derecho cooling system maintenance as well as security patches and software updates. The storage systems, Campaign Storage and Destor (Derecho Scratch), will also be unavailable during the outage.  

We will update the default ncarenv module environment from version 24.12 to 25.10. Version 24.12 will remain available. In the new default environment, the legacy Intel Fortran compiler ‘ifort’ will no longer be included and will be replaced by the newer ‘ifx’ compiler. Refer to our HPC user documentation for more information on choosing between module versions.

Scheduled jobs will be held and will resume automatically after system checkout is complete.

Progress updates will be communicated through the Notifier system throughout the outage.
